About the BIA

Downtown BIA supports nearly 300 businesses, and numerous professional offices across 130 properties located on nearly 40 city blocks in Ottawa’s downtown core.

The Downtown BIA is committed to supporting the revitalization of Ottawa’s downtown core, collaborating with partners and stakeholders as stewards of growth for commercial, community and cultural interests, while serving as advocates for its members.  Its mandate is to support the key pillars of economic and community development, destination development and member advocacy.

Downtown BIA was created in 2025, as the result of extensive consultations and the expansion of its business area boundaries beyond Sparks Street.
